We looked at many paintings made by the artist Wayne Thiebaud. One of his common subjects are cakes in the bakery. When we looked at these we realized that the cakes are really just simple cylinders. We learned how to draw those earlier in the semester, so we were inspired to create our own cake drawings since we already knew how! We started our sketches with pencil, and used chalk pastels to color them in.
